The membership fee and any other fees are payable in advance by each member (irrespective of
actual use of the gym) either by cash, debit/credit card or direct debit agreement. If you wish to pay
monthly by direct debit, these fees are collected on the 1st of each month, or the nearest working day
thereafter, and membership is automatically renewed each year.
Your monthly direct debit subscription will be collected on the first working day of each calendar
month. Your monthly direct debit membership fee is a full calendar month regardless of the actual
collection date. Members must be a named account holder of the account to be debited and be the
only person required to authorise debits.
If your Bank fails to make a direct debit payment from your account when due, unpaid Direct Debits
will be reclaimed on or just after 10th of relevant claim month without prior written or verbal notice. An
administration fee up to £25 may be charged for each failed direct debit payment.
Members will be refused entry if outstanding payment issues are not settled and any payments
outstanding 30 days after becoming due are liable for immediate recovery by lawful means.
Membership may be refused or rescinded with good reason at the discretion of the management at
any time and admission to METX Fitness premises may also be refused to any member or their guest
at the discretion of the management.
Membership is personal to the member and may not be assigned, transferred, sold on or otherwise
dealt with and members who misuse or ‘lend’ their membership card to third parties will have their
membership rescinded without a refund.
Membership fees and other fees are reviewed periodically and may be varied by the management
without notice. Direct debit subscribers will be given at least 10 working days written notice of any
changes to the address provided by the member.
It is a member’s responsibility to inform METX Fitness of any change of contact/address details.
METX Fitness reserves the right to vary these Terms & Conditions on not less than 28 days notice to
members. Notice of any variation will be validly given to members if posted in a prominent position in
the premises. METX Fitness Terms & Conditions are available upon request or on our website
Cancellation of membership payable by direct debit must be in writing or email to METX Fitness
providing one full calendar month’s notice e.g. written notice received on or before 31 December will
terminate membership on 31 January and written notice received during January will terminate
membership on 28 February. Notwithstanding the cancellation fee you remain liable for one calendar
month’s subscription during the notice period. Cancelling your direct debit instruction for the monthly
fee or a verbal instruction to any member of staff is not sufficient.
Proof of postage requesting cancellation, hand delivered letters countersigned/photocopied by METX
Fitness staff or e-mail are the only criteria accepted as confirmation of cancellation in the event of a
dispute. No member of staff is authorised to give verbal confirmation of termination of membership.
Membership cards must be returned to METX Fitness when your notice is given.
Annual/short term fees paid in advance cannot be refunded under any circumstances. METX Fitness
provides multiple membership options and the greater the commitment the lower the overall annual
Membership cannot be suspended for any period of time. In exceptional circumstances such as injury
or ill health, the management (at its sole discretion) may agree to suspend membership with
documented medical evidence to a maximum of 6 months subject to a ‘maintenance’ fee of £10 per
month or part thereof. The fee will be collected in place of your usual direct debit payment or in
advance for fixed term memberships.
It is the responsibility of members to cancel the direct debit mandate after the final payment has been
received. METX Fitness will not be held responsible for payment issues arising more than 60 days
from the effective cancellation date.
A member who terminates their membership will have no claim to any refund of their charge(s). A
member whose membership is terminated will forfeit all the privileges of membership
Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance by telephone, in person or online with full payment
only. Class entry will only be guaranteed for members who successfully book a slot in advance.
Members who fail to attend pre-booked activities will be charged the full rate for the activity
concerned. Class cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance in which case a refund
will be offered. No refunds for non-usage of clubs facilities.
A member or visitor engaging in the club activities or making use of its facilities are responsible for
ensuring that he or she is properly equipped and that his or her state of health and physical condition
are such as not to involve any risk to him or herself or any other person making use of the club.
Members and their guests must accept responsibility for their personal property whilst on the
premises and METX Fitness shall not be liable for any loss damage or theft of personal
property belonging to any member or any guest of a member occurring on the premises
whether or not such property is left in lockers provided for the use of members and their
guests. For security reasons and for the benefit of all members, all lockers must be emptied at the
end of each session. All lockers will be checked and emptied at the end of each day. Any items found
will be disposed of.
Members and their guests must exercise due care in particular when using the facilities and/or
equipment so as to avoid injury to themselves and others using the gym and those in any
doubt as to their physical fitness should seek medical advice before attending the gym. METX
Fitness shall not be responsible for any injury occurring on the premises whether as a result
of the use or misuse of the facilities and/or equipment provided by them or otherwise in the
absence of negligence on the part of METX Fitness, their employees and/or agents. Members
are responsible for their own insurance in respect of injuries suffered, loss or damage to equipment.
Cars must be parked correctly in the car park paying due to attention to priority spaces for disabled
users and the safety of other Business Park users. No liability is accepted for loss or damage to cars
or property and is left solely at the owner’s risk.
Every member will receive a membership card or key tag which must be shown at reception on every
visit. Replacement cards may be subject to an administration fee. The membership card remains the
property of METX Fitness.
Members or guests must wear suitable clothing, gym wear and footwear at all times whilst on the
premises. Jean-type clothing and open toe sandals/flip flops are not acceptable on the gym
floor/studios. Due to the nature of some classes footwear may not be needed at the discretion of the

No pets are allowed into the facilities with the exception of Guide Dogs.
Every member and guest must comply with the reasonable instructions of staff in the interests of
health and safety and maintaining smooth running of the gym.
METX Fitness does not accept any form of threatening or abusive behaviour towards members,
guests or staff. Members will be held responsible for the behaviour of their guests. Members who
appear intoxicated will be refused entry.
Only trainers approved by the management may use the gym for personal training. Members are not
permitted to give personal instruction to others whether for financial gain or otherwise.
During busy periods use of the cardiovascular equipment is limited to 15 minutes on any one piece of

The management of METX Fitness reserves the right to refuse entry at any time and to cancel any
membership in breach of rules or conduct which in the view of the management of METX Fitness is
offensive to customers and / or staff or represents a health and safety danger.
Facilities and services may vary at the discretion of the management. METX Fitness shall be entitled
to make alterations, carry out repairs or maintenance without prior notice, though every consideration
will be made to minimise inconvenience. The opening times may be changed from time to time. A
minimum of 1 month warning will be provided to customers and will be advertised within the facility as
a minimum. All opening times are subject to timetables that may affect usage of a specific facility.
All members and their guests agree to abide by the Rules as posted in the Club and on the web-site
www.metxfitness.co.uk. A copy of the Rules is available for members if requested. METX Fitness
reserves the right to vary these Rules on not less than 7 days notice to members. Notice of any
variation will be validly given to members if posted in a prominent position in the premises.
In the event of any dispute as to the meaning of the Rules the Management’s reasonable
interpretation of the Rules is final.
This Guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit
Scheme. The efficiency and security of the Scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or
Building Society. If the amounts to be paid or payment dates change METX Fitness will notify you 10
working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If an error is made by
METX Fitness or your Bank or Building Society you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from
your branch of the amount paid. You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by writing to your Bank or
Building Society. Please also send a copy of your letter to us.
Please note only UK bank accounts are acceptable for Direct Debit payments.

All new members will be required to complete a registration form, a medical PAR-Q form and
undertake an induction programme prior to using METX Fitness facilities. If you answered yes to one
or more questions on the PAR-Q form you must obtain your doctor’s consent prior to exercise. All
members must inform staff of any medical condition which may affect their use of the facilities.
I am aware of and understand the potential risks associated with physical exercise and I am
voluntarily partaking in these activities with a knowledge there of.
I have had the opportunity to ask questions regarding activities, use of equipment, other related
activities and to have the benefit of an induction programme. Any questions I have asked have been
answered to my satisfaction.
The PAR-Q questionnaire attached hereto has been completed to the best of my knowledge and
I understand that if there is a change in my condition at all, I must inform the Club Management in
order that my training can be re-assessed.
Without prejudice to the above, METX Fitness accepts no liability for loss or damage of whatsoever
nature and howsoever arising caused to me or suffered by me whilst on the premises, UNLESS such
loss or liability is caused by the negligent act of METX Fitness.
I understand that ALL membership fees are non-refundable. I accept that I must give a full calendar
month notice of cancellation. All members who wish to cancel their membership must do so in writing.
Failure to do so will result in the claiming of another direct debit payment.
I acknowledge that I am responsible for the cost of replacement or the cost of repairs for any damage
that I may do to METX Fitness premises, accidentally or otherwise.
I have read, understand and accept the rules and terms and conditions laid down by METX Fitness
and agree to abide by them. I understand that the METX Fitness may from time to time make
changes to the club without prior notice.
